Volunteer Placement Terms

How volunteer placements arranged through CC Volunteer are matched, confirmed, supported and concluded.

1. About these terms

These Volunteer Placement Terms apply when you access or use CC Volunteer, part of CAQA Groups and Career Calling International Pty Ltd (ABN 53 162 651 238). By using this website, you agree to use it lawfully, respectfully and only for its intended purpose. The information on this website is provided for general information and service-description purposes. Specific terms may also apply to individual placements, programs and partnership arrangements that are confirmed in writing between you, CC Volunteer and a host organisation.

2. Who these terms cover

CC Volunteer helps individuals and organisations connect through volunteering, work exposure, community contribution and pathway-building opportunities. Our audience includes students seeking their first structured experience, job seekers building current evidence of their skills, people new to Australia looking for local experience and community connection, professionals contributing time through corporate volunteering days, and the community organisations that host them. These terms apply to anyone who enquires about, is matched to, or participates in a volunteer placement arranged through this website or our team.

3. Services offered on this website

Through this website you can find information about, and enquire about, placement matching, skills evidence portfolios, organisation partnerships, new-arrival programs, student and youth programs, corporate volunteering days, references and recognition, and pathways to study and work. The website itself provides information and a contact pathway; placements are arranged personally between you, our team and the relevant host organisation.

4. How placements are arranged

Every placement depends on suitability, host availability, safety checks and the requirements of the role. When you submit an enquiry we will normally talk with you about your interests, availability, goals and any support needs, and then look for a role that fits. A placement is only confirmed once the host organisation accepts the match and any screening required for the role - as described in our Screening and Suitability Notice - has been completed. CC Volunteer cannot guarantee that a placement, a particular role, a particular host organisation or a particular start date will be available.

5. Your commitments as a volunteer

If you accept a placement, we ask that you attend at the agreed times or give reasonable notice when you cannot, follow the host organisation's reasonable instructions, induction and safety directions, treat staff, clients, other volunteers and community members with respect, and tell us promptly if the role is not working for you. Our Safety and Conduct Policy sets out these expectations, and the safeguards you can expect in return, in more detail.

6. Volunteering is not employment

A volunteer placement arranged through CC Volunteer is voluntary and unpaid. It does not create an employment contract, does not entitle you to wages, salary or paid leave, and does not oblige the host organisation, CC Volunteer or any CAQA Groups brand to offer you paid work. Where a placement opens doors to study, training or employment, those opportunities are always subject to the separate application, enrolment or recruitment processes of the relevant provider or employer.

7. Hours, portfolios and references

Where a placement includes logged hours, a skills evidence portfolio or a reference, the record depends on accurate information from you and the host organisation. References and recognition are provided at the reasonable discretion of the host organisation and CC Volunteer once contribution has been verified, and they describe your volunteering honestly; they are not a guarantee of employment, selection or any particular outcome.

8. Information collected through this website

When you enquire or apply through this website we collect information such as your name, contact details, interests, availability and, where a placement proceeds, screening and suitability information. This information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and is shared with prospective host organisations only to the extent needed to arrange and support a placement.

9. Payments

No payments are taken through this website. CC Volunteer does not charge volunteers a fee to enquire, be matched or participate in a placement, and this website contains no shop, booking engine or payment facility. Because no payments are processed through this website, no refund or cancellation charges apply to its use. Where an organisation asks us to design or support a larger program, such as a structured corporate volunteering initiative, any commercial arrangement is scoped, quoted and agreed separately in writing.

10. Limits of advice

Information on this website, and guidance from our team about roles, pathways and options, is general in nature. It is not legal, financial, migration or formal careers advice, and it does not guarantee admission to study, employment, licensing, registration or visa outcomes. You remain responsible for decisions you make about your own study, work and volunteering.

11. Changing or ending a placement

You may withdraw from a placement at any time, and we ask that you give the host organisation reasonable notice where possible. CC Volunteer or a host organisation may pause, change or end a placement where the role changes, safety or conduct concerns arise, screening cannot be completed, or the placement is no longer suitable for either party. Where a placement ends early we will, where appropriate, help you look for an alternative role.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms or about an existing placement can be raised at any time.

You can contact CC Volunteer by email at info@caqa.com.au, by phone on 1800 266 160, or through our contact page. Postal correspondence can be sent to Career Calling International Pty Ltd, 2/10 Lawn Court, Craigieburn, VIC 3064, Australia.
